Hello D20 Community,
CEC 20 held its monthly meeting last night at P.S. 310 School of Future Leaders! Thank you to everyone who joined our meeting, whether you were with us in person or online! The public engagement and insights were truly appreciated. We also extend our appreciation to the staff at P.S. 310, including Principal Hong who graciously hosted our meeting. Our meeting included various presentations including Christina Scheer, Chair of Title 1 who provided an overview of Title 1, the importance of it for school districts, and future plans with current funding. CEC 20 Member, Dr. Alina Lewis, held a Cell Phone Mandate Presentation which included Raj Goyle, Founder of Phone Free NY and Katherine Jedrlinic, NYC DOE Senior Executive Director for Policy and Advocacy. This presentation discussed Governor Hochul’s Statewide Cell Phone Restriction and its implications on NYCPS. We thank all presenters for their insightful contributions.

Dr. David Pretto provided a Data Overview for the 2024-2025 School Year, a review of the priorities in the District Comprehensive Educational Plan (DCEP) for 2025-2026 School Year, new specialized programs, and Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD) After School programs in District 20.
