Hello D20 Community,
CEC 20 held its monthly meeting this Wednesday at P.S. 170 The Ralph A. Fabrizio School! Thank you to everyone who joined our meeting, whether you were with us in person or online! We are very grateful to the staff at P.S. 170 including Principal Sainz, who kindly and graciously hosted our meeting. We had some really important discussions, including -
Guest Speakers
We were fortunate to have numerous guests from various organizations and offices. Last night's meeting included presentations from NYC Kids RISE and Save For College Program, Robert Williams from the Office of Language Access, Program Director for the COMPASS After School Program at I.S. 62, and Youth & Schools Organizer and Transportation Alternatives Advocacy Group. CEC 20 also finalized their requests to the School Construction Authority.
Superintendent Report
Dr. Pretto reviewed the implications of artificial intelligence for students, teachers, and the HMH curriculum. Dr. Pretto also provided an overlook at the data regarding DCEP Priority One: All Students Learn to Read Well, DCEP Priority Three: All Students Have a High Quality Academic Experience, DCEP Priority Four: All students Graduate College and Career Ready and Have a Strong Plan and Pathway to Economic Security, and DCEP Five: All Districts and Schools Are More Inclusive and Responsive For Parents and Families, Including Having More Families Choose NYC Public Schools.
